Don't Let the Joke Be on Your Body This April 1st! 🤡

Happy April Fools' Day! While today is usually reserved for hidden salt in the sugar bowl or "your shoelace is untied" pranks, there’s one trick we often play that isn’t nearly as funny: telling ourselves we’ll "just start again next week."
We’ve all been there! I want to make sure you don't end up being the one getting pranked by your own aches and pains.
The Science of the "Snooze Button": It’s easy to joke about skipping a session, but our bodies have a very literal "use it or lose it" policy.
Muscle Memory is Real (but Fickle): Research suggests that while "muscle memory" helps us regain strength quickly, we can begin to lose the neurological efficiency of a movement (how well our brain talks to our muscles) in as little as 7 to 14 days of inactivity.
The Elasticity Factor: Our fascia (the connective tissue that keeps everything in place) loves consistency. When we stop moving, that tissue can start to feel more like a stiff "cling-film" rather than a bouncy spring.
Missing an exercise routine and I specifically would say your Pilates mat time, might feel like a treat in the moment, but the joke isn't so funny when that "mysterious" lower back tweak returns!
Let’s Stay Strong Together
I promise no pranks this week—just good vibes, intentional movement, and that post-Pilates glow we all love. Don't let your fitness goals become an April Fools' punchline!
Check the timetable www.thankupilates.com/timetable and get yourself booked in. Your future self (the one without the stiff neck) will thank you!
See you on the mat, you lovely lot!
